Emile Gnea

Country: Cote d’Ivoire
G.Nea, was born in Bingerville in Cote d’Ivoire. From his childhood to this day, the artist has been committed through his art to denounce violence of all kinds, raise awareness among African youth and address other issues related to current affairs in his country or the continent. He is inspired by conflicts in the world, in general, and those of the Ivory Coast, in particular to carry out his works.

The artist uses the color red much more to speak of danger and the blue which appeals to sensuality, tenderness. He is particularly attached to ancient art, Egypt in particular. He seeks, through his works, to find a solution to the question posed by Gauguin’s work “Who are we, where do we come from, where are we going”. Today, he is one of the promoters of Praia Pinceau de Rue des Arts Internationaux d’Abidjan.
