Mohamed Dembélé (Mali, 1990) is a visual artist who lives and works in Bamako, Mali.
Mohamed, passionate about drawing since an early age, inherited his artistic talent from his designer father.
He joined the Conservatory of Multimedia Arts and Crafts, Balla Fasseké Kouyaté (CAMM-BFK) in 2012 to hone his talents, where in 2017 he obtained a Master 2 in Plastic Arts, crowned with an honorable mention.
A member of the Tim’Arts collective, Mohamed developed a realistic figurative style, conveying messages relating to current societal events.
His images sometimes appear as anecdotal, and sometimes even as shocking.
Mohamed’s work consists mainly of acrylics on canvas, and occasionally of collages and mixed media.
His artistic approach is based on the decomposition of his subject through a multitude of lines, suggesting continuous movement on the canvas. Mohamed cuts his own brushes, to have the right shape for control of his lines.
